Get Some Sleep, Sis!

Get Some Sleep, Sis!

Have you ever thought about how much of the Lord’s rest you need-as a creative? As a mom? As a friend? Today’s best kept secret is that prayer holds incredible power to unlock your creativity.

Have you ever thought about that? Yes, prayer is a vehicle that unlocks healing and anointing, but it’s also a vehicle that unlocks creativity. It’s a space where we come to show gratitude and appreciation for that saving grace over our lives, but it’s also a space where we come to discover the beauty in this world and recognize where we can partner with God in all of it.

Y’all, we serve a creative God! As the only creatures in the whole universe who are made in HIs image, we have to remember that creativity is a part of our DNA. We can enjoy the fullest expression of our creativity in His presence through prayer.

I’m so thankful that Desirée Micheels, coauthor of Just Believe: Every Summer Has a Story, came through to help us in this area on this podcast this week. You can listen to it here on Spotify, iTunes, or Audible.

She came through dropping gems, and, this is one for the books. I know that prayer can seem counter productive when we are up against a deadline or hitting a wall, but, just remember, prayer is never wasted. After all, like Desiree said, “We’re the pen, but He’s the ink.” Let God write, sing, create, and live through you.

As always, I have a couple of questions for you:

💫 When was the last time you took time off from that dream?

💫 How often do you pray about that vision and sit quietly at God’s feet to be refilled with new ideas?

💫 What can you begin doing today to trust Him with your creativity?

Today, we’re talking about creativity, prayer, Psalm 127:2, and rest! If you haven’t read Psalm 127 or ever really paid attention to it, then let me the first to tell you, it will set you free! I don’t know about you, but this week, I really needed a little bit of help in the area of my creativity so this message was right on time-all over again. Drop a comment below if you have thoughts on the subject.

You can find Desiree Micheels at @justbelievebook on Facebook and Instagram, as well as at so make sure you follow everything good she’s introducing into this world for girls and women, today!
